Providing Community Engagement With The Renewal Trust

Linking up with local community organisations is another piece of the jigsaw that Matt Bradbury Sports has been working on over the last 18 months.

Its been great working with the Renewal Trust supporting their Half Term "Live" and HAF (Holiday Activity & Food) holiday activity programmes.

We particularly enjoyed the recent October half term event that took place at the Brendon Lawrence Centre engaging 20-30 children participating in sports sessions - basketball, badminton and tennis to name a few.

Adding to that we were able to lead and deliver some crafts to the children so that they could take away some of their own handiwork - lollipop ghosts, creepy spiders and pumpkin carving was a real highlight of the week.

Walking the group into Nottingham, getting the children active to take a trip to the National Justice Museum to observe the Power: Freedom to Create exhibition. There was the chance to design, colour and make their own pin badges and to make clay models in the purpose built on site classroom was an amazing opportunity.

"I really enjoyed being outside in the summer linking up with Nottingham Forest Community Trust and Chance To Shine to deliver some quality sports sessions with the children taking part in urban hockey, street golf, cricket, football as well as an opportunity to do some science with Ignite to make some rockets and to fly them high into the sky!"

"You can't beat working with other organisations and members of their coaching teams as you can learn so much and there's nothing better in keeping with a growth mindset to better yourself and your own sessions both in communities and schools."

We are fast approaching the Christmas Holiday Activity & Food programme starting when the schools have broken up for the festive season. Exciting times, exciting activities and crafts for young residents living in Sneinton, St Anns and Mapperley.
